Leo Badger - Drums
At age 7, Drummer Leo Badger was mesmerized by the rock beats on the radio. The words, melodies and chords were great, but he was struck by how the beat stayed steady while everything changed around it. Growing up, he loved the Beatles, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin; then in his late teens he moved onto progressive and fusion styles, and later to roots rock, funk and blues.
For decades Leo has played the Southern California rock and blues circuit, at venues including House of Blues, Playboy Mansion, BB Kings, Galaxy Theater, Belly-up Tavern, and many others, backing for bands such as Average White Band, Arthur Adams, Sheena Easton. Having played with Larry Lawrence and Jay Madore in Armed and Dangerous back in the early 80's, Leo opened up for Pat Travers and The Bus Boys. In July 2006, at the Pasadena Blues Festival, his band The Kingpins won the Best Blues Band of the Year award.
For the past few years he has ventured further and further into the music of old blues legends who changed America and the world with simplicity and emotion, legends like Jimmy Reed, Johnny Lee Hooker, Little Walter and Howlin’ Wolf, to name a few. Now full circle, he reunites with his old friends in BAD INC. for a run at the music of Bad Company. Known for it's deep pocket groove and soulful vocals - reminiscent of the best of the blues pioneers - Bad Company's music is just right for Leo's masterful command of the drums.
